Design & Development Committee

The Design Committee is working with the City of Portland on streetscape improvements in downtown Portland. The Design Committee also works with local building and business owners who utilize the Portland Downtown Development Authority's "Facade Grant."

The Portland Main Street Design Committee has also actively partnered with the City of Portland on streetscape enhancements on Maple Street and the rear facades of buildings on our boardwalk. These projects have both added greatly to the downtown's overall astethics and make our downtown a pleasant place to do business.

Check out the following video to see some of the work that the Design Committee has accomplished since the program's inception:

The Main Street Design Committee is currently working on developing an accurate wayfinding system in downtown Portland, while continuing to work with building owners to improve facades and aesthetics in the Main Street district.

If you have an eye for design or a flair for style and would like to get involved in making downtown Portland great, we invite you to join our Main Street Design Committee!

Our Design Committee meets the second Thursday of each month at Portland City Hall at 6:00 pm.
