Spring and Summer Events
Annual Block Party
Our annual Block Party celebrates downtown Portland and the return of great weather! Held each year in May, this event features a classic car "cruise in," has great local food and live entertainment, and a great "Party Pavillion," all on Kent and Bridge Streets! Portland Pay Day
Portland Pay Day is our own "shop local" campaign that works to keep dollars in Portland-area businesses! For every $10 spent in a participating business, customers are entered into a drawing to win $1,200 or other prizes. This promotion has kept over $189,000 in Portland over the past three years. Wine the Walk
Introduced at the 2011 Riverfest, Portland Main Street's "Wine the Walk" features live music, craft beer and wine tasting, and fun all on our award winning downtown Boardwalk above the Grand River! Please click here for more information.
Fall and Winter Events
Our Annual Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is Portland Main Street's annual fundraiser and the biggest October party in town! Live music and kid's entertainment, great local food, and our "Big Beer 5K Run" make this fest a "can't miss" event for the entire family! For more information, please click here!
HolidayFest on the Grand
Celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Portland style! Great in store demonstrations and sales, carriage rides, our snowball drop, and the lighting of the City's Christmas tree make this a fun event for the whole family! For more information on HolidayFest, please click here!

Portland Main Street has partnered for over two years with the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) to bring business trainings for new and established business owners to Portland. We offer trainings on subjects such as:

- Small Business Legal Issues
- Small Business HR Solutions
- Social Media and Website Training for Small Business Owners
Our Economic Revitalization Committee works hard to bring these business trainings to you! These trainings are FREE and are open to business owners throughout the region!
