The 2017 Downtown Block Party!

Portland Main Street program is pleased to announce that the annual Downtown Block Party will be returning  on Saturday, May 20st! 


The annual Block Party attracts thousands of people downtown for the fun and great party atmosphere. we expect the same again in 2017! This year’s Block Party will  feature Hot Air Balloons, great live music, Maple St. Marketplace, new exhibits & events,  kid’s amusements, the return of the annual “Portland’s Got Talent” talent show, a petting zoo, and lots of fun for the entire family!

Crafters WANTED!

Contact Friends of Red Mill.  517-898-1937  517-743-1830. Are you a crafter that is interested in selling your wares at our Block Party on May 20st? We will have a limited number of booth spaces available this year for you! The cost for booth space is $25.00. Signing up is easy -- just download a registration, fill it out, and return it to theFriends of the Red Mill along with payment. 

"Portland's Got Talent" Talent Show!

Do you have talent to show off to the Portland community? Well, we have your shot at fame! The Portland Main Street program will be hosting a “Portland’s Got Talent!” talent show at the Downtown Block Party on Saturday, May 21st at 2:00 pm. This show is open to amateur performers ages 8 years old and up! Show off your family-friendly talents and win!

The Portland Main Street program exists at the intersection of historic preservation and economic development. Our goal is to revitalize the downtown while protecting and enhancing the unique historic buildings. Our volunteers work to protect the sense of place and history that downtown Portland holds and build on that.
